Nine days to Christmas

My feet are screaming
They said it got pretty warm outside today
I’m too busy
I worked for twelve hours
warm for the middle of December, that is
to talk to the person
with a fifteen-minute break
I wouldn’t know
who gives me a reason to stay busy
Because the high-school kids got out early today.
I was only outside at 9am and at 11pm
I hate that
And it was freakin’ cold both those times!
It makes the holidays a lot less fun.
